  • Description

Broaden Your Horizon and Empower Children for a Better Future - As a volunteer you can help provide informal education and vocational skills that disadvantaged children need to get jobs and make a better future for themselves. Meeting people from other countries can help foster in them a curiosity about the world outside India. As you immerse yourself in community development activities, you will also discover a new, meaningful connection on a more human level. Our volunteers in the process forge a symbiotic relationship with communities they serve, thereby deepening their cultural learning and tolerance.

Have an Enriching Cultural Experience - Working with people from a different culture altogether will be a culturally enriching experience for you as it will help you gain a first-hand knowledge of the nuances of Indian culture.

Teaching as a Life-Changing Experience: Impact Abroad helps address critical issues in the field of education and community development. You will get a chance to contribute creative and out-of-the-box ideas in order to enhance the teaching methods that local NGOs employ to teach children. This will not only make learning simpler and more interactive to these children but will also change their lives for the better.
Explore Incredible India: Every aspect of India projects itself on a panoramic scale: be it the staggering picture of life in a country of over 1 billion people or the unmatched beauty of stone temples and feisty festivals attached to them. You will never get to the heart of the quintessential Indian experience, if you do not explore the hidden historical and cultural gems of India.

Explore Kolkata, famously known as the "City of Joy"- Kolkata, always colorful and crowded, is an "in your face" city that will never cease to fascinate an unsuspecting, first-time visitor with its historical gems, celebrated cuisines, lively festivities and a vivacious cultural scene.
Explore enigmatic West Bengal: West Bengal has always exuded vitality and exuberance. This Indian state has been the birthplace of famous revolutions, including India's national movement for independence. Bengal is steeped in history and famous for its visual delights, including its architectural masterpieces and colonial buildings. Its alluring beauty also lies in its quintessential traditions of food and fanfare. The Bengali's undying passion for fish, sweet treats, soccer and songs by the Bengali poet and Nobel laureate Tagore are some of the signature cultural vignettes. Bengal is also considered to the birthplace of exceptionally talented artists. Districts like Bankura and Midnapore are renowned for their Dhokra Metal Castings, a rich metal craft tradition, which is still untouched by modern technology. Surrounded by the verdant Himalayas in the north and the Bay of Bengal in the south with plains and plateaus intervening in between, Bengal is topographically diverse. North Bengal is home to a large number of ethnic tribes. Moreover, people from other states of India migrate to West Bengal in search of a better life. It also has a remarkable variety of climates from tropical savannah in the southern portions to humid subtropical in the north.

Other cities of India: You can easily visit other metropolitan cities of India, including Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi from Kolkata.

Nearby Southeast Asian countries: From West Bengal, you can easily take a trip to either of the neighboring countries including Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
