This internship allows you to work with small international companies. These companies work with small companies in Argentina and exports to the United States. Over the past few years theses companies have increased their production and network to cover a large range of markets and industries. In these demanding internships you will have real-life, hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will learn what it is like to run a small international business and will be completing a varied range of important tasks.

You will learn about how a small international business is run, to understand what it takes to keep a company running, to assist in its development and expansion, and to perfect your Spanish skills.

The internship will provide you with valuable work experience and help prepare you for your future career. You will also have the unique opportunity to experience the local culture and business world of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This type of internship provides a student with a broader perspective on their field of interest as participants can expect to gain an understanding of business and operational practices on an international level.

The Mente Argentina Internship Program also includes an optional introductory course of 20 hours of Spanish immersion classes during your first week in Argentina (Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm). This is a great opportunity to prepare yourself with business specific vocabulary as well as learn common Argentine expressions and specific language that you will need to interact in an Argentine business environment.

Often, students can receive academic credit for their internships, however the student must consult their home university and have approval to do so.

Mente Argentina Program Coordinators are available 24 hours a day to assist students with all aspects of their study abroad experience and provide information on preparation of life in Buenos Aires.

Mente Argentina is the only study abroad organization that provides accommodations in the most exclusive neighborhoods of Buenos Aires: Palermo, Belgrano, Barrio Norte, Recoleta. Everything is included, even maid service once a week! (Shared Apartment Accommodation)

Your program coordinator will be waiting for you at the apartment to brief you about the program. They will answer any questions you may have and provide you with a welcome pack to prepare you for your life in Buenos Aires.

Qualifications

Like most internships, our internships emphasize on-the-job training rather than merely employment. Interns are usually college or university students, but they can also be high school students or post graduate adults seeking skills for a new career.

We cooperate with a range of different businesses, state, non-governmental and international organizations. As an intern you will gain insight into Argentine culture and business environments while gaining solid experience in the area you choose. In most placements you will work with Spanish speaking people, which will further enrich your Spanish knowledge and command of the language.

Spanish is not a requirement for all programs and supplemental Spanish lessons are offered to all program participants.
