Description

The Melon District Marina is the largest student residence hall in the city of Barcelona. It's also the second major Melon District project in the city. The 20,000-square-meter student residence hall has 533 beds in 427 single rooms, 33 twin rooms and 40 studio flats.

The neighborhood where Melon District Marina is located, Poble Nou, is no less spectacular. In the 1960s, an intense deindustrialization process began in Barcelona whereby large plots of land were freed up, soon to be occupied by transport companies, printing works, large workshops and warehouses of all kinds.

The 1992 the Olympic Games triggered spectacular changes in the neighborhood, turning it into one of the most alluring and modern residential areas in the city. This neighborhood is being promoted through the 22@ city project which is underway on either side of the historical heart of Poble Nou.
