  • Description

    Responsibilities:
    This person is responsible for managing and developing Maximo Nivel's international programs in Costa Rica. These programs include TEFL/TESOL Certification, the Native Spanish Program, and the Volunteer & Internship program.

    This person is based in San Jose, Costa Rica, but works closely with Maximo Nivel's International Program staff in Cusco, Peru and La Antigua, Guatemala.

    This person is responsible for driving matriculation into the international programs, and providing client service for all program participants.

    This person is responsible for providing information and descriptions about Costa Rica's programs and volunteer projects including advantages and benefits of programs, program limitations, and pre-departure information.

    This person is in charge of all participant management. This includes:
    * Airport pick-up
    * Orientation & Welcome
    * Site visits and problem-solving
    * Coordinating donations and aid
    * Travel details (arrival, hotel, etc.)
    * Flight suggestions and visa information

    This person works to develop new volunteer projects within Costa Rica, improve international programs overall, sell tourism services, and ensure after-program service and relationship management with all program participants.

    - This person is directly involved in partner management and service. This includes regular communication with both international and local partners to ensure Maximo Nivel provides timely and professional communication and ensures partner satisfaction.
    - This person is responsible for finding and organizing appropriate housing for international program participants including family-stays and apartments.
    - There are several reports that this person must generate using Microsoft Excel: Monthly program registration, Spanish & Beds, and weekly Spanish class schedule, and summaries of client feedback.

    Qualities:
    * This person must be Extremely client service oriented.
    * This person must be focused on results--increasing program matriculation, service to partners, and participant satisfaction.
    * This person must speak both fluent English and fluent Spanish.
    * This person must have excellent computer skills including Word and Excel.
    * Must know how to lead and manage a group of young professionals.
    * Must be client service savvy, with a passion for getting it right.
    * Strong daily management and strategic planning skills.
    * Must have a energy level and strong work ethic.
    * Must be computer and web/internet fluent.

    Working Hours:
    This person works Monday - Friday (7am to 7pm) with 2 hours for lunch; and on an as needed basis during peak times of the year. Generally speaking, this person will work two weekends during a four week period; normally alternating with one weekend off and the next weekend on; weekends require only Saturday OR Sunday, but not both days. Weekend hours are 9am to 6pm.

  • Highlights

    This is an executive team level position in a fast-growing international organization. Salary may appear low by North American and European standards, but is a good salary in Costa Rica. This position is eligible for both monthly and annual bonuses.

    * Bachelors Degree
    * MBA or Masters Degree preferred
    * Minimum 5 years professional experience, preferably in a business setting
    * Minimum 2 year managing a professional team
    * Fluent Spanish language skills required
