  • Description

    This person leads our Native English Program and our test preparation programs. This person is responsible for all sales and client service and manages matriculation, diagnostic testing, and class scheduling.

    This person also provides client service support for ALL programs including our international programs for foreigners (Spanish, TEFL/TESOL, Volunteering etc.). This person works very closely with International Programs in terms of serving international clients and managing Spanish teacher and class scheduling.

    This person manages a team of 2 office staff and 6 English teachers. This person reports to the General Manager of Costa Rica and is part of the Executive Team in San Jose.

    This person also works directly with corporate clients to sell our English programs to hotels, mining companies, banks, etc.

    There are several reports that this person must generate on a regular basis using Microsoft Excel: Daily cash box (receipts), Matriculation per class ('FU Report'), Monthly Class Schedule, etc.

    This person is responsible for enforcing a number of policies including: Matriculation AFTER Exam, Use of ORIGINAL textbooks, "greeting hours," etc.

    This person works Monday - Friday and has 2 hours for lunch--the schedule is agreed on with the General Manager and is usually a) 7am to 7pm, b) 8am to 8pm, or c) 9am to 9pm. Generally 2 Saturdays per month (the 1st and 4th Saturdays) are also required.

    The Director must also work according to the needs of the Department, so for example during the 1st and 4th weeks of the month, working hours may increase somewhat or extra Saturdays may be required depending on staffing needs.

  • Qualifications

    - Bachelors Degree required
    - Masters Degree preferred
    - TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification preferred
    - 3-5 years managing an international English institute or program.
    - People coming from the hospitality industry also fit well with our organization.
    - This person must be very client service oriented.
    - This person must be focused on results--increasing program matriculation, service to clients, and participant satisfaction.
    - This person must speak both English and Spanish.
    - This person must have excellent computer skills including Word and Excel.
