Manta Watch Camp has just launched and we need inspiring people to join us on a rewarding and challenging mission to conserve marine life in Papua New Guinea!
We are now accepting Manta Heroes to come to a remote island to help us build a SCUBA diving and conservation research centre so we can study the majestic Manta rays. We hope to make groundbreaking discoveries and we aim to protect the local ecosystem through sustainable conservation and ecotourism which provides jobs and education for the inhabitants of Gonubalabala island.
The company was founded by partners Adam Beard and Carmen Toanchina who are both incredibly passionate about conserving our oceans. Adam is a keen underwater photographer and loves to capture marine life in their element. Carmen is a conservation addict who would spend all day underwater if she could! She has been a professional diver for over 10 years and she has a special talent for spotting rare and interesting species. Having dived many times on the Manta cleaning station they became aware of dwindling numbers in population mainly due to human intervention and other dangers impacting the species. They decided it was time to act and created a conservation concept that had the vision to save a species we know very little about. The rest is history.
If you'd like to make history with us, come and join our mission in beautiful PNG and become one our first generation of Manta Hero!
