Magister South Africa Programs for Students and Volunteers

My intership was great! The internship itself and the leisure program organised by Magister is very exciting! No need to hesitate... South Africa such a beautiful country!

I found Magister and a SA internship by chance via internet, I didn't know at all this country and this city before (but I like adventure) and I was so surprised ! The best trip of my life (for now) with so good friends that i still meet in Europe. Even the internship was ok, an experience that i can't get in Europe for sure. If you like nature, animals, parties and a lot of fun: GO FOR IT !!!

I found the Magister Group through a friend of mine who was at that time already in Cape Town and advised me to contact them. During my whole stay in South Africa Magister really helped me with everything. From organizing accommodation, cars, internship to weekend trips which were really great and partys. I felt comfortable all the time and in comparison to other organizations (I will not name them :-) that I met members from Magister made a better job especially concerning full time support. Reference: Laura H. My decision to use the small package of Magister for my time in Cape Town was the best ever! It helped me to meet new nice people and to become part of a group very quickly. The weekly activities have always been very funny and were helpful in learning more about Cape Town, its culture and to get in touch with other people. Also weekend trips are organized every month by Magister. During my 6 months in Cape Town I joined all of them and each of them has just been unique and wonderful. We discovered areas of the Western Cape and whole South Africa, which I wouldnt have seen without Magister I guess. i.e. Cederberge, Orange River etc& Beside the party-leisure factor, it has always felt helpful to know that there is somebody to ask in case of an emergency. Not being totally on yourself far away from home& I can definitely recommend to everybody who is interested in doing their internship in Cape Town  Do it with Magister!!! Thanks.

I had a wonderful time in Cape Town with Magister and my internship. It was a great experience which took me right into the life of the South African People and Culture. It was good to work for a NGO and to see how to make a difference in the life of children in need. Everything - my internship, my accomodation and even weekly nights out and fantastic weekends away were organised by the team of Magister. It was just a perfect allround package. Like home so far away from home. And now, five years later it still feels like being part of the Magister-Familiy! Thank you so much to make this possible to me.

I already received my internship contract for an internship placement, which I organized by myself. There where only three weeks to go, until my Cape Town experience should start.... and I had no accomodation. It was pretty hard to find a nice room from Germany short before the World Cup started. After I posted some ads at Gumtree, Nicky from Magister contacted me... and from one minute to another, a lot of problems had been solved. The colleagues of magister organized a nice room, made the airport pick up and answered patiently to each of my questions. But the best is, joining Magister means meeting so many friends at the place of your internship. You can join the Magister meetings and tours whenever you want and you never feel alone. One of my highlights has been quadbiking in Atlantis with a lot of the magister members. I recommend Magister to everyone, who is looking for an exciting time in Cape Town with a lot of nice people.
