  • Description

    If you are patient, loving, kind hearted, and love helping others then this is the perfect project for you! The disabled/special education children of South Africa need help in raising their comprehension levels and the senior citizens require assistance with some of the daily fitness activities. Volunteers can appreciate the fulfilment they feel when helping these disadvantaged children and seniors.

    Cape Town is one of the world's most spectacular destinations. Situated on the south western tip of Africa, Cape Town and the Western Cape are recognized as one of the most beautiful places on earth. Offering a range of attractions, breathtaking sights and endless activities, it is a year-round holiday destination with friendly people, a mild climate and rich cultural heritage.

  • Highlights

    At the home and learning center for underprivileged and disabled adults and children your task will include the following:

    - Volunteers will help with disabled and underprivileged adults and children.
    - Helping with feeding
    - Shopping with them.
    - Taking them on outings.
    - Giving them companionship.
    - Teaching stimulation programs
    - Help develop their skills.

    Note:Volunteers are allowed to change between projects or do more than one of the following during their stay:

    - Teaching at Local Township School Cape Town and or
    - Disabled and underprivileged Adults & Child Home;
    - Kite Surfing Outreach Project.

  • Qualifications

    There are no special qualifications or skills necessary for this but volunteers should be highly patient and flexible for this project. Of the tasks involved with teaching or caring for the disabled are not always easy or fast, but they are also much more rewarding.

    * Airport pickup and return transfer to Cape Town International Airport (CPT).
    * Accommodation in a dorm at a local backpackers (Note: Accommodation can be upgraded to a private room at an extra ZAR120 per night.)

    - Cape Point tour
    - Township
    - Wine route tour
    * BBQ in the local township
