  • Description

Mada Clinics provides two schools in the area with assistance for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). In addition it runs a small local village school at our main Maventibao village site.

At Mahamasima we assist at a primary school where the 150 or so children are aged between 7-12. The village is located next door to the local National Reserve - Ankaranana, which has its entrance across the road. This reserve is noted by Lonely Planet Guide to be one of the most important parks in Northern Madagascar. The volunteers teach mornings at the school and in the afternoons teach the guides who work in the National Reserve.

We also provide places for TEFL teachers at a the large secondary school in the small rural town of Anivarano. The school has 700 pupils aged 12-16.

We run a small kindergarten/school in the village of Maventibao for the local children (aged between 2 and 10) who would otherwise receive no schooling. This school has one regular teacher and who is assisted by our volunteers.
