MACAO is a humanitarian non-government organization (NGO) working in the Arusha region of Northern Tanzania, in a small village near Loliondo. Our head office in Arusha was established in 2003. Our organization meets the diverse needs of orphans and Maasai’s vulnerable children. We strive to improve the living standard of the indigenous people by assisting them through social services such as education and water sanitation. Our volunteers are placed in our various programs such as Food Security and Healthcare research program, Environment research program, HIV/AIDS outreach program, Worm education, hand washing, and toilet construction program. We also operate an orphanage for 26 children and a school at which currently 85 children from the surrounding areas attend.
