  • Description

All the placements are broadly similar; however there are differences between Nation 2 Nation, and also between each individual Partner.

To date, volunteers have focused on the teaching assistant role in a non-formal teaching center with children aged 5 -12. These centers support disadvantaged children and work to mainstream them into the Government run Primary Schools. Volunteers generally work in pairs, across a number of centers teaching English, Maths, and other Subjects. Volunteers also introduce new games, rhymes, songs, and teaching techniques and tools. Centers vary and range from small to large with one or two classrooms and around 70 children per center.

Volunteers work closely with local organizations, supporting teachers in order to create comprehensive lesson plans. Volunteers have assisted in the painting of schools and also in small maintenance of school buildings.

  • Highlights

Most of our coordinators run local level organizations and work hard to address local issues affecting the life of their communities. In addition to our international coordinators, we work directly with local schools, orphanages, development agencies, and community organizations. We strive to ensure each program meets the high standards of quality as expected and deserved by our volunteers.
