Luanda International School (LIS) is a nonprofit, private co-ed day school offering English language programs to students ages 3-18 years old. Based in Luanda, Angola and founded in 1996, it was established by a group of individuals interested in creating an English-medium international school in Angola. LIS is supported by oil-related companies and most of the income comes from tuition.
The school provides International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program from pre-primary to year 6, IB Middle Years Program from years 7 to 11, and IB Diploma Program from years 12 to 13. We have a diverse community of teaching staff from different countries - including Angola, the United States, Spain, Australia, Japan, and Ireland. Our student population of 50 nationalities has already reached more than 600 students. They take part in various activities, allowing them to deepen their knowledge while challenging themselves across different domains. We offer after-school activities, sports teams and camps, instrumental music program, and football tournaments.
