This is a chance for you to escape from your routinity and daily work load for refreshment. On first day of your arrival, you will be introduced to the city of Makassar, a big coastal city which is not highly influenced by global sophistication. You will be introduced to traditional sailing boat of Phinisi, which will bring your recognition to ancient sea fares of Indonsian interisland sea water.
The main program is planting Bitti trees in Takalar, where you will stay for eleven days in rural farmers area. Here you will realize the importance of your presence to give a substancial contribution to the conservation of nature as well as helping people. You can extend your stay if you feel like to.
Thereafter, you will travel along the coast of South Sulawesi to the most south end of Sulawesi island for excursion. Up to Bulukumba, you will see the traditional boat building place, visit the eco village of Kajang tribe, where no industrial products allowed to be taken in. People in Kajang use black cloth in accordance with cultural believe which related to the preservation of the environment.
You will stay then one night in a beach ressort in Tanjung Bira where you will enjoy the beauty of the tropical beach, where you can swimm or snorkel or even sail to view underwater sceneries. During the night you will experience a silent beach night with the dinamic sound sea waves, and in the sky above, you can see the stars.
During the whole program, the volunteer will be accompanied by our staff.
* On the first day of your arrival, you will be lodge in a beach ressort in Makassar, where you can enjoy beautiful sunset.
* The next day you will be introduced to the city of Makassar with many objects to visit, old port of Rotterdam, traditional sail boat port and many others. A lunch of sea food of traditional and local setting will be served in a local typical restaurant.
* Before afternoon, the travel will proceed to Takalar where you will stay to plant Bitti trees. The wood of this indigenous tree is the main materials in the building of Phinisi traditional boat.
* The last of the program is a travel to Bulukumba to stay by night in Bira beach resort. Before travelling back to the airport the next day, a visit to Ara beack will be experienced.
