  • Description

Malaga is pleasantly nestled on the Mediterranean Sea and is considered to be the gateway to the Costa del Sol, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Malaga is a port city as well as an industrial center and can boast an exceptional climate year-round. Its rich history began with the Phoenicians, who first settled in the city, followed by the Greeks, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Byzantines, and the Moors. Today, Málaga is a bustling, modern city that is full of life and has something to offer every visitor.

The LPI office is located in downtown Malaga, just five minutes walk from the university's center for Cursos de Espanol para Extranjeros. At the LPI office, students can check their email, receive tutoring, check out books, or simply visit and practice the Spanish language. Each of LPIs resident staff is dedicated to maximizing the students experience while studying abroad. They will conduct the on-site orientation, lead excursions, set up intercambios with local students, and assist students with any school-related questions or problems. Visit the LPI website for photos and bios of the resident staff.

The University of Malaga was founded in 1972 as a State institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science. The origins of the University of Malaga date back to the 1960s, when the citizens of Malaga demanded its creation. After only 25 years, it has become the cultural center of the city and has an enrollment of nearly 40,000 students. The university strongly supports research and development that continually help to bring Málaga into the 21st century.
