Description

Lotus Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization based in San Jose, California. Each year, Lotus accepts applications from individuals interested in interning as a Program Assistant at our Beijing office during the summer session or any other time of the year for three months or more. Our interns learn the ins-and-outs of a non-profit organization as well as assist with program development. We particularly welcome applicants who have an interest in traditional Chinese culture and community service. A background in non-profit work is preferred, and some proficiency in Chinese is required for long-term interns.

Lotus Educational Foundation is happy to assist individuals who wish to participate in an internship while they are living in Beijing. Students may choose our Internship Only option, or they may choose to supplement their homestay language program with a part-time internship in the afternoons.

Our internship positions are unpaid. During your internship, you will work in Lotus Beijing Office located in Haidian. Lotus is able to provide interns with a "teach and stay homestay", where you will tutor English for your host family at least one hour each day in return for room and board. During your internship period, three meals per day are provided. Your host family will provide you with breakfast and dinner each day, and Lotus will provide you with lunch free of charge. Our office is located in Haidian District on Suzhou Street, which is near Zhongguancun.

To apply for our internship, please submit a 300 word statement describing your personal background, your goals for the future, and how studying Chinese and working for Lotus Educational Foundation will help you meet your goals. Please also state your possible internship period, including starting and finishing dates. Additionally, please provide a copy of your resume, as well as a passport photocopy and a passport sized photo.
