  • Description

CDV is a children's home providing full support and family-like care for orphaned and vulnerable children. We aim to empower these children through education so as to enable them to break the cycle of poverty and strive for a brighter future.

Children are provided with shelter, food, and all health and educational needs. The care and support offered by CDV allows the children to spend one half of the day learning at Cambodian public school, and then the other half at the centre for additional classes on Khmer culture, history and literature, English, agriculture and a blend of both traditional and modern dance and music. Children are also taught responsibility, integrity, independence and tolerance.

Some children living at CDV have lost one or both of their parents, whilst others come from family environments that place the children at risk and where access to education is unfeasible. Where possible, Life and Hope Association (LHA) is dedicated to ensuring that all children maintain relationships with their parents.

We envisage a Cambodian society that is peaceful and cohesive, with equal rights and equal opportunities, built on the basis of kindness and compassion. We believe illiteracy (ignorance) is the cause of all suffering. We aim to strengthen quality of life and to awaken all classes of people to a meaningful life by sharing with each other. Our goal is to improve the lives of orphans, vulnerable children and disadvantaged people, in order to give them hope in life and the prospects of a better future.
