Qualifications

A GAP placement with Letz Live offers you the opportunity to live and work as residential staff member in one of the worlds leading boarding school establishments. In addition to a weekly allowance, you will also receive free accommodation, meals and incidentals. Furthermore, those GAP assistants who embrace the challenges and responsibilities of their GAP placement abroad may even be rewarded with duties that involve travel to national or international destinations.

A GAP placement abroad allows you to gain independence and confidence through caring fro students in the boarding school and experiencing international travel. Although a GAP placement is a fantastic opportunity to travel, you are also expected, and will be routinely reminded, that you have been employed to work.

There are no set formula's for the type of tasks expected of a GAP assistant. The needs and requirements of schools vary quite considerably and accordingly a GAP assistant needs to be flexible and understanding in such circumstances. Letz Live works in conjunction with boarding schools in Australia, Canada, China, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom to place GAP assistants according to the attributes that the school requires.

Some schools may require their GAP assistants to be competent in a particular discipline; on the sporting pitch, the performing arts or in the classroom. You may also be involved in duties assisting the schools' ground staff, individual tutoring, escorting students to medical appointments or school reception duties. Whatever the situation, it's a great opportunity for you to try your hand at a range of new challenges.
