  • Description

LEOlingo is a language camp organization in Germany founded in 2006/2007. We give German children the possibility to learn a foreign language in a holiday camp atmosphere with native speakers. English is the main language we offer, but there are French and Spanish camps as well (therefore French-English and Spanish-English bilinguals needed!). We are two partners, Sabine Goerner, situated in Schwerin, near Hamburg (Northern Germany) and Andrea Baer (supported by Jennifer McBean), situated in Sengenthal, near Nuernberg (Bavaria).

    Working conditions:
    * Groups of about 12 children (7 to 15 years old) per counselor
    * Sites in Southern Germany (Bavaria): Nuernberg, Regensburg, Erlangen etc., and in Northern Germany: Hamburg, Baltic Sea, Schwerin etc.
    * Travel periods possible, if you tell us early in advance
    * Travel costs from one site to another (travel costs to Germany need to be paid by the counselors themselves)

Working periods (including a one week-long training):
    * June 15th - August 4th, North (Hamburg, Baltic Sea, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern): Day and Overnight Camps. Responsible: Sabine Goerner.
    * July 22nd - September 7th (and/or 21st to June 9th), South (Bavaria): Day and Overnight Camps. Responsible: Andrea Baer/Jenny McBean.

    Training:
    * Your working period will start with 8 days training on our program.
    * The training is mandatory and during your training you will not be paid.

  • LEOlingo - Sprachcamps fuer Kinder's Mission Statement

Our approach is to make learning happen through games and activities. We are not a language school, we organize holiday camps. Our goal is to show children that it is fun learning and speaking a different language. You will be trained to teach a language without shocking kids with grammar or pure vocabulary, but through playing games with them, supporting their creativity and talking to them.
