You will find many programs to save animals, but none like this one!
In its efforts to help prevent illegal animal trafficking in South America, Lead Adventures offers you the chance of volunteer in 3 different animal rescue centers in 4 weeks only!
If that is not enough, we are pioneers in offering volunteers a complete orientation by experts in order to teach them how to look after each animal they will be encountering during their experience.
The purpose is helping, learning and travel at the same time! at affordable rates as we are locals, hence we offer you the best sight of Ecuador without paying extra.
Do you fancy having the adventure of a lifetime rescuing and caring for endangered creatures while living in one of the most beautiful places on earth?
This is no picnic. You will be knuckling down to some important work but we promise you it is as satisfying as it is tiring. The first time you look into the eyes of a mistreated and terrified small creature and realize you are its only hope, you will be hooked.
It is for volunteers like you that these centres exist! Join a proud tradition of selflessly helping these animals.
Lead Adventures animal welfare programs in Ecuador work towards the elimination of animal mistreatment and abuse through education, rescue and rehabilitation. Each of our Rescue centres are sanctuaries for wild animals that have been victims of animal trafficking, which intended to enslave them and turn them into pets.
The centers are located in the 3 regions of Ecuador: Pacific Coast, the Andes Highlands and the Amazon Rainforest, on this program you have the chance to explore the best of each region!
Lead Adventures offers volunteers the unique opportunity to protect and care for a range of wild animals including monkeys, cats, bears, reptiles, parrots, and many more. During your stay at the centre, you will gain invaluable experience working with animals that desperately need your help, dedication and above all, love. These animals can only receive the care with the help of volunteers like yourself, who can enjoy spending time in this friendly environment doing a worthwhile task in beautiful Ecuador.
* Work with exotic animals that can only be found in South America
* Help to save their species, by contributing new ideas and knowledge
* Facilitate the complete recovery of animals and release them back into the wild
* Enjoy a unique opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world
* Make a real difference by helping to conserve the Ecuadorian fauna, and at the same time enjoy all the attractions that Ecuador has to offer.
Volunteers Role:
Volunteers at our wildlife Experience will work with animals that have been taken from the wild and sold as pets, or used in circuses and other illegal situations. The rescue centers goal is to rehabilitate the animals so that they can be released back into the wild or to provide a permanent sanctuary for animals that have been badly maltreated and cannot be released. Animal lovers will want to be part of this important and rewarding project, offering understanding and practical care for these innocent animals.
The most important tasks will be feeding and cleaning of the animals, which takes up the majority of the staffs time. Twice a day volunteers work closely with the animals to make sure that each one of them is provided for. The centers are constantly looking for ways to improve their location, by extending and enhancing the existing cages and enclosures in order to provide the best possible environment for the animals to reinforce and nurture their natural instincts.
