Description

Follow the coastal road from Cap Frehel (the lighthouse) towards Erquy. Just before Sables d'Or, you'll see the "Manoir Saint-Michel", on your left, an old Manor house which is over 400 years old. It overlooks the whole bay and is 300 yards from the beach. It has its own large car park and a private, well stocked lake, where fishing is permitted for residents. The Manor is open to all for breakfast , or a drink in the grounds, overlooking the sea.

With a superb view of the beach at Sables d'Or and the wide bay of Saint-Brieuc, the Manor is 800 yards from the resort's centre, situated between the 18-hole international golf course and the sea. With Dinard (22 miles) Dinan (28 miles) and Saint-Malo (33 miles) in close proximity, there are excellent opportunities for wonderful excursions. The international airport of Rennes is about 55 miles and that of Dinard 20 miles.

You can choose to have breakfast served in your bedroom, in the breakfast room or in the garden, which overlooks the lake and the beach at Sables d'Or. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a pot of tea, served with local pastries.

The bedrooms and cottages are fitted with direct dial phone and satellite TV. The furniture comprises period pieces and the rooms are cosy with four-hundred year old beams and antique wardrobes which have been made in the neighbouring area.

- By car: 400km (250 miles) from Paris

* Take the A13 direction Rouen- Caen.
*Exit 31direction Alencon, Peripherique-Sud, Z.I. Caen, Rennes
*Follow the signs "Mont Saint-Michel et "Saint-Malo" (A 84 - E 401)
* Just before Saint Malo: take direction "Dinard - Barrage de la Rance"
* Past the "Barrage de la Rance",(D 168) Follow the signs "Cap Frehel", apres le village "Matignon" carry on towards (D 786) "Frehel"
* In the village of Frehel, turn right heading for Sables d'Or. When you come to the sea, turn left.
* Follow the coast for 3 km. You will find le Manoir on your left.
* You will recognize the Manoir's lake and the 12 flag-poles in the car park, which is flood lit at night.

- By plane: Airports at Dinard (35km), Rennes (80km) and Saint-Brieuc (30km).
- By train: 3 hours from Paris (nearest station, Lamballe)
- By Boat: Arrival at Saint-Malo Harbour. Sailings from Portsmouth and Jersey.
