Latin Horizons is an international organization which helps foreign students find internships and volunteer positions in Latin America. Students can contact us directly for placements in a wide range of companies and organizations. Besides, we work in cooperation with various universities and partner organizations. Latin Horizons is able to fulfill the needs of students and exchange organizations because it has an international staff. We know what students want and what the organizations expect!

What we want to accomplish is that a volunteer not only sees and helps the poor people, as poverty exists around the world. What we want from the volunteer is his/ her understanding, especially the process and value towards the poor people of this part of the world. Volunteering with Latin Horizons is a cultural exchange, so that both parts learn from each other and so giving to the volunteer the satisfaction of supporting this idea, and giving the local people of Ecuador new ideas to improve their organizations. Our volunteers contribute much-needed skills to local communities as they strive for self-sufficiency. Volunteers work side-by-side with local people on locally designed and driven projects.

Latin Horizons places interns with many of the finest local and international companies in Ecuador. We make it possible for international students, recent graduates and professionals, to work in their field of study while becoming immersed in Ecuador's culture and communities. Latin Horizons organizes internships throughout Ecuador: in the Highlands, Coast, Jungle and the Galapagos Islands.

Qualifications

Depending on the placements, there are different requirements. But for all placements we ask at least basic knowledge of the Spanish language. Some positions require intermediate or fluent Spanish.
