Location
Bolivia: Sucre

Term
Throughout the year

Dates
Start dates every Monday, all year round.

  • Description

Located in the heart of Sucre our school is just a few blocks away from the city center and close to all amenities, including museums, old churches, parks, shops, restaurants and bars.

The classes are in held in the mornings, which leave the afternoons free for cultural activities or excursions.

The school is situated in a 2 story building with 7 classrooms, a kitchen, 2 terraces, an indoor patio and a salon (for videos, books and socializing etc). Classes are held every day from Monday through Friday and the student is free to choose the length of his or her course.

We feel the longer you stay in-country the more immersion you will receive and the more you will learn. We recommend the following minimal duration: Beginner (8-12 weeks), Intermediate (4-8 weeks) and advanced (2-4 weeks). The school holds about 40-50 students and offers, access to a swimming pool, receipt of email & faxes, coffee/tea and spring water during breaks.

  • Highlights

The city is located at an altitude of 2,790m above sea level and the climate is mild and pleasant. Sucre has a population of 150,000 and is the beautiful colonial judicial capital located in the Andean highlands of Bolivia.

Known as "the white city of the Americas", due to its numerous colonial buildings, all of which are painted white and topped with shiny red tile roofs. It is a center of culture and learning, offering many museums, a university, a lively central plaza, shops and restaurants.

In 1991 the UNESCO declared the Historic City of Sucre a "World Heritage Site" in recognition for its rich culture and history.

Nearby is Postosi, which once was the most important silver mining centers in the world, with the largest and richest population in Latin America. It is an integral part of Bolivian history.
