Our school is located in the city center and is reached by walking down a small pedestrian street.
Housed in a typical styled building, our school is located on several upper floors of the school building, which has a large patio which offers stunning views across the old part of town and the cathedral, a popular place for students to relax between or after class.
The school has many international students and offers 12 classrooms, multi-media learning center, student lounge area with vending machines, spacious lecture room and friendly atmosphere.
Our programs cater for all language levels from absolute beginners to the more advanced, include the use of course materials and provide a variety of options to enhance your program. Max. class size 13 students, French is taught
Each student will be expected to take a short placement test on the first Monday morning of the course (unless a complete beginner), to determine the students language level and ensure placement in the correct class. Lessons are usually held in the mornings, starting at 08.30 am, which leave the afternoons free for social or cultural activities, trips, workshops, short excursions or free time to relax or explore on your own.
Lausanne is a truly elegant city, which resides on the hillside between Lake Geneva below and the woods above, surrounded by meadowland and vineyards, facing the Alps. Its hillside setting on the lake facing the Alps is truly spectacular.
Its old quarter, La Cité, has an impressive medieval cathedral, it is also a vibrant University City with one of the country's largest university campuses and home to the International Olympic Committee headquarters, which has a fascinating Museum on the Olympics with all kinds of exhibits and a library of Olympic videos.
Lausanne is a very green city with many parks and gardens. Its southern exposure on the Lake gives it a wonderful climate for all kinds of vegetation. Ouchy is the city's marina, which is beautiful and has excellent restaurants and fantastic yachts. The best beach is Vidy, where bikes and skates can be rented to explore the walkways along the Lake.
In the summer, Lausanne holds many outdoor festivals, street performances, and street parties, and the pedestrian-only shopping areas are excellent.
Lausanne has more to offer young people than most Swiss cities: nightlife, bars, bistros, discos...16 museums and collections stage more than 50 exhibitions a year, from dinosaurs to contemporary art. Each month, more than 100 stage and opera productions, concerts and variety shows fill theaters and auditoriums across the city. Musée de l'Art Brut has an unusual but fascinating exhibit of art by untrained artists including imprisoned criminals, mental patients, and eccentrics.
There are many wonderful excursions and tours of the Lake Geneva area, by boat, train and cable car. Ride up to the surrounding peaks of the Alps where revolving restaurants have spectacular vistas. Take a boat to the charming medieval stone town of Gruyère, famous for its cheese, or the resort of Montreux on the lake, nicknamed the "Swiss Riviera" because of its warm climate with palm trees and other tropical vegetation along the lake and in the parks.
