Our Cairo school was established in April 1975 and is the foremost language institute in Egypt, in the teaching of Arabic.
The school is situated in Central Cairo on the west bank of the Nile, in a suburb of Cairo called Mohandiseen. However it is only a 15-20 minute drive to Tahrir Square (downtown Cairo) and only 30 minutes from the famous Pyramids.
Egyptian Colloquial Arabic is the dialect spoken in Cairo and although English is understood, it can be an advantage (also appreciated) if you can use Arabic in everyday life. Egyptian people are extremely warm and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. The culture is rich and interesting so there is plenty to do at weekends (Friday and Saturday).
The school is housed in a modern building which normally holds about 80-150 international students per month. The school facilities include spacious air conditioned classrooms, a cafeteria, library and study center with e-mail access. Also located in the school building is a Arabic/ English bookstore, another restaurant and all other facilities are close by.
Note: The school is closed on Fridays and Saturdays and classes are normally held Mondays to Thursdays.
Enjoy a Arabic language course in Egypt at our language school in the city of Cairo.
As ancient as history itself, Cairo occupies a singular place among world cities, with a geographical position so unique that an interchange of influence with the civilizations to which it stood witness was made possible.
In fact Cairo could be the world's only city with monuments dating back to four different historical periods-the Pharaonic, the Roman, the Christian and the Islamic. The Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza are only 10km outside from Cairo.
Cairo offers an incredible selection of shopping, leisure, culture and nightlife. Shopping ranges from the famous Khan el-Khalili souk, (or bazaar) largely unchanged since the 14th century, to modern air-conditioned centers displaying the latest fashions.
All the bounty of the East is here - particularly good buys are spices, perfumes, gold, silver, carpets, leather work, glass and mashrabiya. Try some of the famous street markets, like Wekala al-Balaq, for fabrics, including Egyptian cotton, the Tentmakers Bazaar for appliqué-work, Mohammed Ali Street for musical instruments and, although you probably won't want to buy one, the Camel Market makes a fascinating trip.
