The Hostel Laguna Park Cabarete is a budget place for young and open minded travelers from all over the world, who like to share, meet others and have a fun time during their stay in Cabarete.

One of thing that makes LagunaPark so special is its unique, unexpected look from the outside. Also known as “El Castillo”, the property of the new Hostel “LagunaPark” was built 2001 from a Dutsch Hotelier, as a copy of a Danish castle. In November 2010 we remodeled it and turned it into the first and long needed Hostel of the hip little surfer town Cabarete.

The interior is brand new, colorful, modern but simple and provides surely everything a traveler needs. LagunaPark has 12 big airy dormitories and private rooms and right now can fit around 50 guests. Generally there is always a steady number of people living there, this creates a nice, familiar and welcoming vibe and its own dynamic.

In the big shared living area, LagunaPark guests have the chance to meet and spend time together. Cozy sofas, Plasma TV, Billiard table and free WiFi make life in LagunaPark very pleasant. Everyone that stays has the chance to use the well equipped, clean communal kitchen and prepare his own meals.

The outside area of LagunaPark is a big tropical garden with swimming pool, sun beds and a BBQ area for little parties. Usually BBQs happen weekly. We like to do them family style, means everyone is welcome to join, just bring meat, salads, tapas, desert or something new and special to share…we’ve seen some spectacular dishes there, inspired from all over the world, food that you for sure wouldn’t find in any of the restaurants on the beachfront…always a surprise

Location

Hostel Laguna Park is located in Cabarete, the little surfer town on the North coast of DR, 25km from the international Airport La Union Puerto Plata (POP).

From the center of Cabarete, you keep on going on the main road in direction Nagua, until you see our big billboard at the Entrance of “PRO CAB” to the right (30m before Janets Supermarket). Take the right turn; pass through the gate, which the guards will open for you. Once you get into Pro Cab, you keep on following the street which makes a turn to the right after 50m and then it goes on straight. You have to follow this street all the way to the end. From 100m distance you can already see the Hostel, which looks like a CASTLE!

Directions from the Airport Puerto Plata:
- By Car: With the car easy accessible, it takes a 25min. drive from the airport to Cabarete and 2 min more to reach the Hostel from the center of the town. Pls. follow the instructions on top!
- By Bus: There is not really a Bus from the airport. What you can do as experienced DR traveler, if you don’t have a lot of luggage. Walk from the Airport to the main road. Which will take you about 10min. From there you can take one of the public transportations (Mini Bus “GuaGua” or Taxi “Carrito”) until Cabarete. Then follow the instructions on top!
- By Taxi: To get to our HOSTEL from the Airport by Taxi is the easiest way and also affordable, only USD35. Taxis are always available directly on the airport and have fixed prices. If you let us know before, we will send you our personal driver to pick you up!
