The La Trobe International Study Abroad Internships provide the opportunity to gain valuable industry experience within a relevant work environment.
Internships can be taken in two discipline areas: Sports Management and Media and Communications.
Centred around a carefully planned and customised 'practicum', internships are designed to formally integrate academic study with work experience related to the student's career objectives or field of study. It recognises and builds on the skills, knowledge and awareness that students bring with them to the course while broadening their experience of a wider social, cultural and global environment.
Students are given the opportunity to apply previous learning, acquire new knowledge and test career choices while developing their professional skills through hands-on experience and exposure to work and industry related issues.
Because the Internship is a recognised La Trobe University program, students may be able to transfer credit points back to their home institute. Students should check with their home institution prior to enrolling in the program.
