A three-week Christmas program in South West France where you will put together the perfect Christmas in France. Together, we will find the attractions and then you and the group will try them out. Come and see what South West France offers at Christmas. Normally La Giraudiere is closed for the winter but for this Christmas we are going to see exactly what happens at Christmas time in south west France. No need to study alone at Christmas come and join a working party that are working to find the perfect Christmas in South West France.

Highlights

The idea is to put together a group of 12 people from different backgrounds, ages and nationalities using La Giraudiere and the region of south west France as their base. We would hope to find Christmas Markets, village fetes maybe even a ski trip who knows what we will find. The main highlight will be festive dinner on Christmas Day at La Giraudiere with open doors for those alone in the village of Brossac at Christmas. What better way to become immersed in the Local French village life. Plus visiting the excursions or attractions that Christmas and the new year celebrations bring to South West France. Remember it may be you that as found the attraction.

Program Fees Include:

Accommodation
You will have your own bedroom in one of the apartments at La Giraudiere. Unless you applied as a couple or Friends in which case you will share with your partner or friend. Every effort is made to insure that the group is such that male and female apartments are separated. Each apartment has a shower room and washroom independent from the other apartments.

The apartments are clean, bright, comfortable and well-equipped.

Bed Linen Toweling and Cleaning
Once a week the bed linen is changed and the apartment is cleaned and clean towels are provided.

Meals
All meals included Breakfast which is normally cereals, coffee, tea and juice. Lunch served midday is also provided and consists of salad, meats, cheese, quiche or such depends who is making it. Evening Meal here we like everyone to take a turn so to provide a mixture of plates.

Arrival and Departure Transfers
To and from Chalais Station
Note: Chalais station is on the line that runs from Angouleme to Bordeaux.

All materials are provided paper pens and anything required to help with the project, there are even umbrellas!

Internet Access WIFI and Telephone Calls
Obviously there is Internet access and you may use the telephone to call home but please keep the calls to a minimum as broadband here in Brossac is not always free.

Help and Advice
Thinking of settling in France and want to learn something that we know how to live in France or how to register in France then we will teach you. All part of the program. Plus help with your French.

Excursions
A Minimum of six excursions will be done for which the group will find by means of research and we as a group will set of in the mini bus and sample the excursions the group as found and recommends. The excursions must be related to the festive season.

French Lessons are also included one afternoon each week.

La Giraudiere is not just a website it was once a masters house or maison d'maitre which fell into dis-repair after being neglected for 50 years or more. Now it is being converted into a small holiday hamlet, a place of learning, a place being brought back to life and at the same time adding to the lives of those who help make it happen. The Property is being restored and reinstated along with it's website by those that stay here. People from all walks of life who have a passion for France and the French way of life are arriving from around the world to contribute towards the project. Students, pensioners, professionals have all contributed to both the property restoration and it's website.
