At one of the most scenic points in Genoa, close to the city's romantic old fortifications, stands the intimate Bed and Breakfast La Funicolare. The location is unbeatable. And not just for its position and hospitality, but also for the possibility of getting to know a place as interesting as Genoa.
La Funicolare is the ideal place to start your discovery of a town out of the ordinary. It's located in the Castelletto area, very close to one of the striking funicular railway stations leading to the top of Righi, the highest hill in the city, and only a few minutes from the city center, with its charming medieval port and famous aquarium.
The building in which La Funicolare is located was constructed in the 19th century and the apartment was personally furnished by its owner, Laura, with refinement and sobriety. We offer our guests a single or double room with private bathroom.
The bed and breakfast is located along a creuza, the typical genoese uphill of red stones. It is reachable in five minutes walking from the main road.
Location

By train:
From the squares (piazza) in front of either of the principal railway stations, Stazione Principe or Stazione Brignole, take Bus N. 33 to San Nicola or any bus that passes Largo Zecca (Buses 18, 20, 30, 32, going east from Stazione Principe or 18 going west from Stazione Brignole) and take the Zecca-Righi Funicular to San Nicola from there.
By plane:
Cristoforo Colombo airport is only 6 km from the B&B. The airport is connected to the city centre by airport bus (get down at Stazione Principe then follow the directions for guests arriving by train) or taxi.
From the Cruise Ship Terminal:
By foot to Stazione Principe then follow the directions for guests arriving by train.
By car:
Highway to Genova-Ovest (4 km from B&B) or Genova-Est (5 km from B&B).
