  • Description

    Volunteers will have the opportunity to handle various children with different abilities by sharing their English skills and teaching talents. The head teacher appoints a member of his staff to assist in guiding the volunteers while providing tutoring help for students who require it.

    Volunteers can also get involved with the children through extra-curricular activities, like sports, theater and art as this acts as an essential part that helps many impoverished children move up the socio-economic ladder.

    The teaching program working hours ranges between 4 - 5 hours a day. The program involves a collective responsibility initiated by the two communities of Wagusu and Abimbo.

    Teaching opportunity was established to cater for Local and International volunteer students with the talent of teaching profession. It also prepares volunteers to improve students learning in different schools in Wagusu and Abimbo communities.

  • Qualifications

    * Be 18 years or older
    * Have no major health problems
    * Be eligible to obtain a tourist visa to Kenya
    * A medical background is required for the Medical/Health Program
    * Some related experience is required for the HIV/AIDS program
    * Obtain a police check from your home country prior to volunteering
    * Obtain training certificates from reputable college
