Location
Spain: Segovia
Term
Summer
The KIIS summer program Spain II takes place in Segovia, Segovia, a charming, provincial town in the foothills of the Guadarrama Mountains. Students may explore the city's Roman and medieval past and venture into the surrounding areas of Old Castile. The locations of both cities make them ideal for excursions, and their diverse natures provide students with dramatically different experiences of Spain.
During the academic program, students attend classes five days per week and take weekly excursions. They experience Spanish dance, music, and theater, and can explore countless shops, restaurants, tascas, terrazas, and discos.

The Kentucky Institute for International Studies is a consortium of colleges and universities dedicated to providing quality international education. KIIS is founded on the conviction that an international experience should be part of the education of as many people as possible. KIIS programs have four primary objectives: (1) to establish high-quality, low-cost, academically sound international study programs for students; (2) to provide faculty from member institutions a means for professional growth; (3) to create language and culture programs for professionals and develop links with their counterparts in foreign countries; and (4) to promote the study of foreign languages. KIIS also seeks to develop new opportunities for international experiences which meet the needs of students, faculty, academic institutions, and community organizations, always taking into consideration the changing times and shifting demands of a global society.
