  • Description

Our Zimbabwe volunteer projects are the epicentre of our Lion breeding, rehabilitation and release program. Alongside our lion projects we have one community project teaching in Victoria Falls, which involves teaching, after school activities, community building projects and HIV/AIDS education.

*Teaching and Community Assistance in Victoria Falls

Volunteer in Zimbabwe and work on a project that brings together a number of small community initiatives in the town of Victoria Falls. Primarily the project centres round a wonderful orphanage which was founded in 2007 by a local woman who wanted to make a real difference to a country which has been through numerous bouts of turmoil over the past few decades. The orphanage looks after a range of children, from babies through to 16 year olds and focuses on providing support and care for children from all sorts of backgrounds including those who require additional economic and psychosocial support due to homelessness, physical disabilities, sexual abuse, poverty and parent mortality.

Alongside this, you will be volunteering in a local primary school which is run by an incredibly dedicated set of staff members who work tirelessly to provide the best support that they can for the local children but who unfortunately, lack the staff, resources and funding to do this to full capacity.

*Medical Support and Health Awareness in Antelope Park

Volunteer on a medical and community assistance project in the heart of Africa and gain basic medical experience in local clinics through interaction with local nurses and staff. Volunteers are needed to provide support to local staff by helping with baby weighing, taking BP and vitals. This project also has an element of HIV/AIDS awareness as well as nutritional education so perfect for those volunteers who are interested in participating in national immunisation campaigns, general outreaches and education drives.

  • Highlights

    *Bungee jump at Victoria Falls

With Victoria Falls as a backdrop, this is arguably the best bungee jump in the world, with a 111 metre plummet towards the Zambezi River. The Victoria Falls Bungee jump has a 100% safety record - and is available 365 days per year. Challenge the limits of the mind and test the edge of fear by leaping off the impressive bridge, with the Falls behind and the mighty Zambezi below.

    *Zambezi white Water Rafting

Acclaimed as the wildest one-day whitewater run in the World, the Zambezi River is also recognized by rafting and kayaking enthusiasts as one of the top ten paddling rivers on the planet!

    *Fresh Water Fishing

Zimbabwe offers excellent freshwater fishing, the best locations being Lake Kariba (famous for its tigerfish), the Zambezi River above the Victoria Falls (known for its giant catfish), the streams of the Eastern Highlands and the many lakes.
