Coming together from various different but related bodies and institutions we work collaboratively to bring about and coordinate a set of non-religous, non-political, non-profit projects.
The aims of the programme are to work as collaboratively as possible with language initiative projects as a basic tool to empower the Achuar people in their efforts to express, maintain and share their unique identity.
The " I am Achuar" English projects represent the fact that despite having been exposed to the influences of the world outside the rainforest, despite the fact they have been learning Spanish and have now requested to learn English, the Achuar people will always be Achuar, a people who are proud of and loyal to their identity's roots. These as are a people who are proud to call themselves, Achuar. The goals are those which the Achuar have set themselves: to carefully explore and employ the English language education in its most basic terms where it may suitable in the Achuar context as a tool to help embrace and celebrate their environment, tradition and ancestry.
