"As a volunteer for the Junior Art Club, I was really given the scope to involve myself fully into taking responsibility in the clubs operations. This not only included spending time teaching various forms of art in schools around Accra, but also gave me the opportunity to devise the new projects, their aims and objectives. I was able to help coordinate an exhibition, assist in the appeal for funding and discuss the future events and success of the JAC. Aside from that I was introduced to a number of artists working in Accra who were great to work with as well as giving me a realistic insight into how artists and their work is perceived in Ghana".- Bryony Middletan "I wish I had more time. I have come to learn and love teaching. The children are adorable and among them some definitely have talents. Overall I had a beautiful time teaching or guiding and preparing pupils for a JAC exhibition with the theme: Shades of the Rainbow. I worked with Sal-Valley, St Paul`s, St Kizito and Adeiso Primary schools". - Nina Chapman 2004 Country-N.Ireland

Our vision is to use the Junior Art Club as a proven social and educational incubator capable of identifying and developing the creative potentials of children and the youth through the arts so as to provide them with progressive youth empowerment opportunities. The mission of JAC is to engender in youth age (9-21) an awareness and investment in social and community issues through art and creative expression. By using such tools JAC empowers youth to approach and address the issues that impact their worlds on their own terms in order to raise their standard of living.
