Welcome to Jarabacoa Hostel, a rustic retreat in the Dominican Republic for backpackers, adventure seekers, pioneers, missionaries, and students! When what you want is a clean place to crash, reliable travel tips, and for someone to point you in the right direction for cheap eats and adventure, this is the place to be. We offer simple lodgings with some extras thrown into the mix.

The community has dubbed our street "Painter's Corner", a name that probably doesn't appear on any map that we know of, but definitely describes the vibe in our corner of the world. We are flanked by famous Dominican artists on all sides, ranging in their art from surrealism to the abstract. In fact, Jarabacoa is known as one of the "cradles" of Dominican art. When you hear the sudden tones of Verdi or Puccini burst into the silence at Jarabacoa Hostel, you'll know that the famous artist Juan Bravo next door is inspired and hard at work on his canvas.

Jarabacoa Hostel is situated in a peaceful natural setting, just 15 minutes walking from the center of town or a cheap motor taxi ride away. Our destination is a bit bohemian, very inviting and relaxing, and an ideal location to make your base camp for mountain climbing and camping, river-rafting, hiking, canyoning, or other more serious pursuits.

We'll get you completely oriented to the locality, give you all the info you need to strike out and explore and make sure you are well equipped with maps and whatever else you need.

Our Economy Plan includes free amenities such as laundry facilities, bicycles, high-speed internet, fully-equipped kitchen, purified drinking water and hot water for bathing.

We provide transportation between the airport and Jarabacoa Hostel, to local sights and activities, and tours and transportation to anywhere else in the country.

Location

Jarabacoa is on the Island of Hispanola in the Dominican Republic. Its not that far from where you are, whether it be the US, Canada or Europe.

Some of the best flight routes from the U.S. are JFK - STI, MIA - STI, FLL - SDQ. Cheaper airlines include Spirit, Jet Blue, and American Airlines. Kayak.com can help you price compare. Watch out for new baggage restrictions and charges, as these must be factored into the total cost of your ticket. For ie., Spirit often has the cheapest fares, but now imposes a charge on hand luggage.

Charter flights may often be found between Canada and the Dominican Republic on charter airlines such as Air Transat. Getting from the airport to Jarabacoa
We offer safe and reliable transportation between all airports and Jarabacoa (in addition to tours/transportation around the country). Our driver receives you at the airport as you come out of customs with your name on a sign, assists you with your luggage, and brings you right to the door of the hostel, helping you ease into the country in the best and safest way. Our hostel guests enjoy a 10% discount on all of our transportation rates. STI (Santiago International Airport) is by far the closest airport to Jarabacoa Hostel.
