    The Summer Internship Program is designed for upper-level language students who wish to gain substantive professional experience in Japan. The program combines language instruction and full-time internships in the Kansai area, allowing students to improve language skills through course work and immersion in a professional position.

  • Highlights

    The Summer Internship program begins with three weeks of full-time Japanese language and culture study, then students will move into their internships. Internships are tailored to students' interested and coordinated by the JCMU Internship Coordinator. The dominant language in internships will be Japanese.

    Internship duration is 2 months (approximately 320 hours). Ability to earn internship credit will vary by college and additional course work may be required by the department. These arrangements should be in advance.

    Eligible applicants must complete at least 2 semesters of college, hold a 3.0 minimum GPA, and have completed 3rd year Japanese. Students from all fields are encouraged to apply. Students may come from any university.
