In 2007, while living in the American desert far from the Brazilian beaches of her native home, Marcia Pirmez curated an exhibit for the Olinda Recife artist Lula Marcondes at La Pena Art Gallery in Austin, TX. As an expression of friendship, Lula Marcondes gave a gift to Marcia: a painting of a window that looked out over Florianópolis, the island she loved and missed so much.

In July of 2009, Marcia moved back to Brazil and opened a bed and breakfast. Like the painting, A Janela de Marcia—the colorful B&B of Marcia’s dreams—offers travelers a magical window into the unforgettable world of Florianópolis.

Accommodations include:

O Sobrado - a charming private guest house for one or two people. Beautifully decorated, it includes a queen size bed with comfortable spring mattress.

A Casa Acoriana - This cozy cottage for 2 features a large covered veranda where you can lounge in the hammock after a long day at the beach. Charmingly decorated, with a private bathroom and shower, Casa Acoriana offers a secluded vacation getaway.

We are located in Canto da Lagoa just a few minutes walk from downtown Lagoa da Conceicao and approximately 2 miles from world famous Mole Beach and Joaquina Beach.
