Originally founded in 1934 as a two-year junior college, Jacksonville University now offers four-year university degrees, combining the perks of a liberal arts college with the strengths of an urban university. There are seven bachelor’s degrees and more than 70 majors offered, with programs and classes also available in evenings and on weekends. The student demographic is diverse (with a male-female student ratio of 1:1), and there are many opportunities for study abroad experiences. Jacksonville University takes pride in its expansive riverside settings, as well as its generous scholarship aids. Its undergraduate research programs and community service learning prepare students for graduate studies, meaningful internships, or career placements within their fields.
