Interior designers design spaces for people to live, work, have fun and do their shopping in. Relational spaces such as bars and hotels, social spaces such as gyms or hospitals, retail spaces such as showrooms or banks.

This professional person, having acquired a transversal culture and an awareness of sensorial, behavioural, technological and environmental issues, is capable of perceiving sociological evolution and expressive language trends, aspects which are subsequently incorporated into the architectural design.

His main goal is to design atmospheres of great emotional impact and define aspects pertaining to function, technology and matter, placing great importance on the use of light.

IED - Istituto Europeo di Design's Mission Statement

For over thirty years, the Istituto Europeo di Design has been operating in the fields of Education and Research in the disciplines of Design, Fashion and Visual Communication. Today it is an international network with Seats in Milan, Rome, Turin, Venice, Florence, Cagliari, Madrid, Barcelona and Sao Paolo and organizes three year courses that are alternative study pathways to those offered by traditional universities, together with refresher and permanent training courses, advanced courses and post-graduate Masters degree courses. The scope of the Istituto Europeo di Design is in fact, to offer young professionals working in the fields of Fashion, Design and Communication, the most efficacious tools necessary to answer the demands of the production world: a project and communication culture that will accompany them throughout their careers.
