The official Degree in Fashion Design specializing in Accessories offers international fashion studies with a unique academic concept, in both Spanish and English. The program trains fashion designers specializing in the design of footwear, jewelry and other fashion accessories. Luxury brands, including major distribution chains, have recognized the commercial importance of accessories, leading to a constant demand for fashion professionals specialized in accessories design. The identification and use of local techniques and materials gives way to the creation of a brand identity based on "made in" authenticity, a value in high demand in such a globalized industry.
The academics of the first year of the Degree in Fashion Design, specializing in Accessories, focus on the acquisition of basic design knowledge (color, drawing), culture (the history of art and design) and project methodology, all of which are essential in establishing the foundations of a competent professional capable of working in any of the different fields of design.
The second year's academics probe further into the technical, cultural and project knowledge essential for students to begin focusing on a specialization of their choice.
The academics of the third and fourth years focus on students' specializations as fashion and accessories professionals with the essential knowledge and skills for the design and development of diverse products, making accessories designers an indispensable figure for fashion companies, where they can design and supervise the production of different accessories within the same collection philosophy. The fourth year culminates in a final degree project, which is a reflection of the students' training, and a professional job application letter.
This program has been recognized by the Autonomous Government of Madrid and the Spanish National Government as an official Degree in Fashion Design.
