Location
Spain: Barcelona

  • Description

WebTv, cinema, virtual worlds and videogames combine together not only technologies, but also languages and formats of products and services.

In times when new ways of communication are born every day, the Digital Media Designer holds cross-discipline skills suitable to follow, satisfy and anticipate peoples' needs with new products and services.

  • Highlights

The multimedia production sector is in constant evolution: rapid changes in technology create a demand for new services and contents, which translate into a need for specialized figures for these communicative professions.

The digital and virtual designer is a project designer specialized in the creation of products or programs with a high level of technological content, spread through digital systems (computer or Web) and characterized generally by the use of multimedia. The birth of what is called New Media, based on interactivity and hypermedia, has demonstrated the need for creative professionals who closely connect traditional disciplines and technology, art and science.

Visual communication plays a central role in this field and requires a competence for testing the potential of new mediums of communication, using three-dimensionality, temporal progression, and cinematic and sound effects.

The digital and virtual designer can find work in many different sectors of the market: on-line communication (Web) and off-line communication (CD, DVD); publicity, amusement parks, videogames, and more.

In a more general sense, job possibilities extend to businesses and studios that bring about a conversion or upgrade to a newer technological system or wish to develop communication through networks (Internet, Intranet).
