The Isabela Oceanographic Institute (IOI) is a Florida-based non-profit organization which operates on Isabela Island in the Galapagos. Isabela is the largest island physically, but has one of the smallest populations with around 2500 permanent residents. Here, the organization strives to merge higher education with community development through locally driven social and environmental projects. Among these, IOI is committed to providing professional English teaching services to the local education system.
Each school year, IOI provides the 2 elementary and middle schools with about 330 students total in nine grade levels and the local high school grades K9 K12 with about 250 students with a program consultant working in curiculum development and teacher training. Also we offer adult classes for our local constituents.
