  • Description

Interstudy provides a wide range of semester and yearlong study abroad opportunities throughout Britain. Our partnerships in the British Isles date to our founding in 1980 and place Interstudy among the most experienced providers of facilitated direct enrollment study abroad programs in the UK and Ireland. Students can enroll in a broad range of courses and actively participate in university life while enjoying Interstudy organized excursions and staying connected to in country staff.

St. Andrews, with buildings and city walls dating back to Medieval times, is situated on a sheltered bay commanding splendid views of the Angus coast and hills. On average, one in three people in St Andrews has something to do with the University. Because of this, local and university events blend to offer a rich cultural and social life for all. As a St. Andrews student, you'll enjoy a variety of musical options at clubs and other venues in the area, and you may play golf on all St Andrews courses for a reduced fee. In short, you'll start to feel very quickly that you belong in this beautiful and historic town. While remote from the bustle of industrial Scotland, St. Andrews is easily accessible from Dundee via bus and a mere 45 miles north of Edinburgh where you can connect to the rest of the UK, Ireland, and Europe. St. Andrews is an ideal location if you are seeking to become quickly and easily part of a community.

  • Highlights

Regarded as one of the most prestigious universities in the UK, the University of St Andrews is Scotland's first university and the third oldest in the English-speaking world. It has an international reputation for teaching and research in the humanities and its focus on the sciences is equally strong. Well known for its range of courses from Computer Science to Psychology, the University provides an invigorating intellectual climate in which students benefit from diverse forms of teaching and small group interaction.

As a visiting student, you may take classes within three of the University's Faculties: Arts, Divinity, or Science. You are encouraged to select classes from subjects in which you are majoring and should note that it may not be possible to take classes in more than one Faculty due to scheduling. Course offerings fall within the typical liberal arts curriculum and range from those of the Classics Department, where the first courses were taught in 1413, to coursework within Scotland's flagship Sustainable Development Undergraduate Programme.

St Andrews consistently ranks among the top 3 universities in the UK for student satisfaction. With approximately 100 societies affiliated with the Students' Association, not to mention the various sports clubs, you'll have a real chance to integrate and feel a sense of belonging. St Andrews students are active in politics and in volunteering locally, and a modern sports center ensures that you will have ample opportunity to stay fit during your stay. You'll live in self-catered university flats or student houses with 6-8 bedrooms and share a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom.

Compared to a lot of my friends I definitely had to put with less hassle - all because of you. In so many aspects you could not have done any better. I would be more than willing to talk to others ...
