  • Description

Volunteer abroad in Nepal. Human Rights: Children's and Women's Rights, NGO Positions - Our partner organizations work tirelessly for the promotion of gender justice, non-discriminatory and rights-based behaviors and practices. Among the thousands of individuals who are trafficked across Nepal's borders every year, the majority is women and children. It is estimated that Nepali women aged 15-30 make up 2.8% of the women in Indian brothels, and the numbers are sharply rising. Participants in this program often assist with research and reports and assist with grassroots projects as needed.

  • Highlights

At International Volunteers works hard to ensure that volunteers also get a chance to explore beautiful Nepal! Participants usually plan weekend trips to float on the lake in Pokhara and ride the elephants in Chitwan. Visit our website to view a photo journal from a past intern!

  • Qualifications

These placements are open to advanced students or volunteers with experience who are motivated and do not require a lot of supervision. Especially needed are participants with legal, grant writing or public health backgrounds. The minimum time commitment is one month.
