  • Description

Volunteer abroad in Argentina. Volunteers at the Buenos Aires Zoo will work for at least four hours a day. Most of the day will be spent assisting the zookeepers with care of the animals, cleaning habitats and organizing conservation projects. Recent conservation projects include:

    * Rescuing and conservation of endangered birds
    * Protection of the Aguara Guazu (endangered insect)
    * General work in the Zoos in Buenos Aires and Temaiken
    * Protection and conservation of the Andes Condor (with possibility to travel to Bariloche)

  • Highlights

Our Argentina programs are based in Buenos Aires, the elegant and energy filled capital. Buenos Aires shares many of the problems other Latin American capitals are experiencing: poverty, pollution, lack of infrastructure, and unemployment. Volunteers work with local organizations devoted to fighting poverty. Volunteers can work with at-risk children, in soup kitchens or health education campaigns.

  • International Volunteers's Mission Statement

International Volunteers is the volunteer branch of ELI Abroad, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, founded in 2001, that partners with organizations from around the world making a difference in their communities. We work closely with these groups to ensure that our volunteers get meaningful experiences at reasonable prices. We have something for everyone: whether you want to teach in Ghana, work in an orphanage in Nepal, animal rescue in the rainforest of Ecuador, medical clinic in South India, or study in a university in Buenos Aires.
