4-week, 130-hour course - get TEFL certified, get a job, get ready for an experience of a lifetime. The TEFL course offered at our Partner School in Prague will give you the training, as well as the qualifications you need to enter the world of English language teaching. The TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) has become a necessary qualification for all teachers who wish to teach English as a foreign language.

If you have already decided to stay in Prague, the main advantage with the program is that we are an actual school in Prague with a long history of success. Our Partner School currently employs 35 teachers and has 800 students. On a daily basis you will be in contact with many teachers and students with whom you can connect and ask advice.

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and has approximately 1.2 million inhabitants. Most people agree that living in Prague is less hectic than in other cities. This is due to the fact that the pace of life in Prague and particularly the Czech Republic is significantly slower than in the United States and England. Many foreigners have the impression that the Czech people seem distant and cold, but once you get to know them they become very friendly. The Czech language is considered to be one of the most difficult in the world. It is unfairly judged to be a waste of time to learn the language because of this difficulty and because most people in Prague speak some English. Although grasping the language is difficult, it is strongly recommended that you learn at least the basics if you intend to continue living in the Czech Republic. It will make your life a lot simpler.

Qualifications

* Be aged 21 or over.
* Have an awareness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables the trainee to undertake the course and prepare for teaching a range of levels. All candidates whose first language is not English must be interviewed (a telephone interview may be arranged) and take a language awareness test.
* Have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become effective teachers, to successfully complete the written assignments and perform in the observed teaching practices.
* Have a positive attitude towards team work and experiential learning activities. This includes acknowledging the relevance of these in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and willingness to participate in all course dynamics.
* Have a standard of education equivalent to that required for entry into university.
