The CELTA:
The CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is awarded by Cambridge ESOL, a part of the University of Cambridge. The CELTA is a highly respected, internationally recognized certificate that is a benchmark for quality.
Every CELTA trainer has to go through an approval process and training with the University of Cambridge. The syllabus and assessment criteria are the same at every CELTA center.
The IHC:
The International House Certificate (IHC) in Teaching Languages is a well-rounded and practical teaching qualification and is recognized by TESL Canada. Holders of this certificate, who also have a University degree, are qualified to teach in accredited language programs in Canada.
Both of our courses are based on the same foundation of communicative and practical teaching methods. When you complete your teacher training at International House Career College Vancouver, you will have the confidence and knowledge to begin teaching.
At IH Career College Vancouver your practicum is included with our courses and your Teaching Practice and observations are arranged in house. You will be able to choose from a wide variety of students at different levels to complete your practicum. Our teacher trainers are highly qualified, experienced, and excellent teachers.
