Marketing Internship - Sydney (2010)

The thing I liked most about my internship company was the people I worked with were really cool. Applying theory from my studies on the internship to the workplace was easy as it comes everyday, but actually experiencing the theory will be a great help in my final year as I can relate to the textbook. I would definitely persuade my best friend to come out with me when I plan my internship again.

Australia Hospitality Internships (2010)

It all went well, been there for 5 weeks and settled in well. Its was a great environment to work at and the community/social life was great fun. Working in the Restaurant was enjoyable. It was pretty consistently busy, as the customers are on holiday every day so the restaurants get filled. Unlike a normal restaurant that is busy throughout the weekend, slow Monday - Tuesday and picks up on Wednesday. There it was full all the time. The pay was fantastic and I probably left with a nice amount saved up.

Australia Hospitality Internship (September 2010)

I worked on a tropical island just off the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Everything went so well, I was so lucky to be working at such an amazing place. I was member of the food and beverage team and I learned so much new skills which was useful when went home for final year of University and I knew this experience will look good on my CV. The people we worked with are lovely and have been so helpful to us making the big move there. Most weeks we worked very long hours but believe me the pay made up for this fact, the hourly rate was amazing. Our accommodation was brilliant, it didn't cost us much in rent and it was exactly what a paying guest would stay in. It was close to the beach and we were allowed to use all the facilities on the island like the pool, tennis courts and gym.

Australia Hospitality Internship (September)

My future employer will see the placement on my CV and appreciate the fact that I am working in a totally foreign country hundreds of miles from anyone i know and succeeding. I think if I can work in another country and have the determination to go alone, commit myself and see it through to the end then I should be seen as a valuable employee.

Australia Hospitality Internship - Whitsundays (November)

By undertaking a 6 month internship in a 5* resort in Australia, my CV will be given a HUGE boost! The world of hospitality is tough to crack, and having experience internationally and in such a renowned place will be an incredible foot in the door for me. Australia looks amazing, and I wanted to get international work experience at the same time as seeing the world.

Australia Hospitality Internship - Whitsundays (July 2010)

I think this placement will show that i have independence, motivation and can work as part of a team. It will add that i am more aware of the working environment and once i have graduated it will also give me an advantage, over someone else who hasn't had international work experience.

Tourism Internship (2010)

I've been in Queenstown for about 6 months and can honestly say that this has been one of the most awesome experiences of my life. The work was great, although it can get repetitive at times especially in the summer when we're open for long hours, the work is entirely outdoors and you are constantly face-to-face with customers. However, the life there is second to none…there was always something to do activity-wise and I found it difficult to do everything there before I left in June, the options were limitless! I have since spoken to many of my friends about each of their placements as well as mine and the majority (not including those who went overseas) have said how jealous they were of me and wished they went abroad for their placement particularly to New Zealand. Looking back at the past 6 months I can honestly say that I am glad I took the risk to work abroad in New Zealand for my placement year. Jon and Intern Options were very helpful back in November when I first took interest in this incredible opportunity, and throughout the months the advice they provided was really great, the information provided on insurance, flights and visas was also helpful and made the final steps of the placement planning easy and painless.

Hospitality Internship in New Zealand (2010)

For my third-year internship placement, I spent six months in New Zealand working in a five-star boutique hotel. Although I had no idea what I'd be doing, the experience exceeded all my expectations. I got in touch with Intern Options and after discussing my options with them, I decided to go to New Zealand. I found having the safety net of an organization like Intern Options reassuring. For me it was about more than just the work: it was about living far away from home, trying to find my own way and learning from the experience.
