    Imagine a place with white sandy beaches, the average temperature is 27-degrees Celsius and the Great Barrier Reef on your doorstep, literally.

    This is the home of Intern Options Whitsundays Hospitality Programme. Each year, we place students, graduates or hospitality workers into the Whitsundays to work hard, earn some good money and enjoy the benefits of a tropical paradise.

    We have positions available year round in the following areas:

    - Food and Beverage
    - Housekeeping
    - Chef

    You are guaranteed 38 hours per week paid at 17 Australian dollars per hour. There is the opportunity for you to work a further 15 hours in a different job on the island. For the extra 15 hours per week you would be paid 125% of your base wage.

    The resorts really look after their employees. There are regularly employee organised (and paid for) live music, DJ's, themed nights, BBQ's and organised trips.

    On your days off there is so much to do, we don't think you will have time to do it all, in fact we challenge you to complete all of these (big breath in):

    staff pools, sailing, go kart racing, Great Barrier Reef trips, gym workouts, outrigging, tennis, parasailing, mini-golf, squash, tube rides, dance classes, sea kayaking, aerobics/fitness classes, water skiing, art classes, helicopter joy flights, wakeboarding, basketball, scuba diving, scenic reef flights, windsurfing, beach volleyball, cooking classes, sports fishing, Whitehaven Beach trips, clay target shooting, snorkeling, trivia competitions, massages, staff bar & pool tables, Airlie Beach markets, kayaking/ camping trips, exploring other islands and the mainland, relaxing at the Marina, hiring DVD's & videos.

  • Qualifications

    To be eligible for the Whitsundays Hospitality Programme you must be eligible for an Australian working holiday visa:

    - Be between the age of 18 and 30, and
    - Hold a passport from one of these countries: United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden

    A hospitality qualification is preferred but you just need to have relevant hospitality experience and have a good attitude to work on a tropical island!

  • Program Fees Include:

    Before you leave for Australia:

    - A paid placement for 6 or 12 months long, confirmed before you depart
    - Dedicated contact person
    - CV/ Resume assistance
    - Australian bank account set up before you leave
    - Assistance applying for you visa
    - Assistance looking at flights and insurance
    - Incorporation of your university requirements into your placement if needed

    After you arrive in Australia:

    - 1 or 2 nights accommodation in Brisbane on arrival
    - Airport transfer from Brisbane airport to your Brisbane accommodation
    - Assistance applying for your tax file number
    - Possibility of subsidised accommodation on the island
    - Ability to achieve training and qualifications from your placement
    - Welcome pack on arrival
    - Australian SIM card

  • Salary/Pay

    Wage is 17 Australian dollars per hour and you are guaranteed minimum of 38 hours per week. Opportunity to work extra 15 hours per week in a different job on the island. You are paid at 125% of your base wage for these extra 15 hours. Accommodation is subsidised and taken out of your wage before tax.
