You'll work alongside Aussies and other international volunteers, and enjoy a variety of projects and locations during your experience.

    Volunteer in Australia Program Details

Our partner organization in Australia is Australia's largest conservation organization and completes more than 2,000 conservation projects throughout Australia each year.

    Australia volunteer projects include:
    * Removing invasive weeds that are destroying natural habitats
    * Minimizing visitor impact by building walking bridges
    * Restoring wetlands and coastal areas
    * Planting trees to restore bio-diversity and control erosion and salinity
    * Helping endangered species by collecting information through surveys
    * Helping protect native plant by collecting seeds for future plants

  • Highlights

Volunteers spend 1-2 weeks at each project site, then have the option of changing to a different project in the same area. Projects are located in both urban and rural areas. Be prepared for varying climates and pack accordingly. Project hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers usually have 1 or 2 days free per week to relax and sightsee.

You will be placed in a team of 10 volunteers. A Project Team Leader manages each team, providing all required training on-site. You will be shown how to use all tools and equipment safely before you start each project.
