  • Description

    Three programs to choose from, depending on your level of child care experience and your interests:

    * Standard Au Pair:
    Provide between 20 and 45 hours per week of child care. The number of hours depends on the needs of the family and will be agreed upon prior to commencement of placement. In addition to the regular hours worked, au pairs may be asked to babysit an additional 2 evenings per week. Participants in the Standard Au Pair Program receive placement with a carefully screened host family, a private room and full board, a weekly stipend of NZD 60-210 depending on hours worked, and at least 2 complete days off per week. They also receive a total of four weeks paid vacation in a 12 month period, and an activities group with regular day trips, outings and activities.

    * Au Pair Mate:
    Our Au Pair Mate program is designed for candidates with more child care experience, to care for children older than 5 years of age who typically go to school. Caring for school age children and sharing different learning experiences with them. Usual Au Pair Mate duties include babysitting, dropping off and picking up children from school, homework help, after-school activities and so much more. Participants also receive a private room and full board plus a stipend of 120-200 NZD per week. Some additional benefits of the Au Pair Mate program include time off during the week to explore New Zealand, an opportunity to study or undertake an internship in your spare time, and a completion bonus paid upon completing your placement term.

    * Au Pair 123:
    Our Au Pair 123 Program is tailored for experienced candidates who would like to care for children under age 5. We provide a New Zealand government-approved curriculum (educational program) that is tailored for our au pairs. During your year, you will help implement this curriculum together with your host family to ensure that the children are developing and learning properly! This is a fantastic opportunity to learn professional child care techniques and to make a difference in the life of each child. Participants in this program earn room and board, a higher salary (180-200 NZD per week), a completion bonus, and professional skills that can be applied to a career in Early Childhood Education.
